1. RAS gives out 16 awards at the LOO (Let's Observe Ourselves) Carnival & Awards

RAS organised its second LOO Carnival & Awards ceremony. The LOO Awards ceremony was held on the first day of the two-day carnival. 57 nominations were received for three categories – organisation, cleaning industry and individual. A total of 16 recipients including the Best Happy Toilet category which is not open for nominations were selected to receive the awards from Guest of Honour Mr Tan at City Square Mall. Mr Tan and our President also launched a new set of educational materials developed by the Public Hygiene Council.

2. RAS participates actively in Clean and Green Singapore (CGS) events

At the Happy Toilet Programme (HTP) exhibition booth specially set up by the NEA, RAS was honoured to share its programmes not only with the Deputy Prime Minister but also other Ministers from the Environment, Health and National Development Ministry at the CGS 2012 Carnival. Educational brochures about our flapship programmes and local sanitation development were distributed to visitors. NEA's first cleanliness ambassador, local celebrity Edmund Chen were also at the booth to advocate and promote clean toilets. The booth drew visitors of all ages with some even posing for a momento photo with the Happy Toilet display.

3. RAS participates in Zhenghua Primary School's Open House & Bukit Panjang Community Racial Harmony Day

Following a successful partnership in the previous year, RAS was once again invited to participate in Zhenghua Primary School's Open House. The school collaborated with RAS to put up an Outreach Exhibition during the Open House. This exhibition sought to project the school's efforts in inculcating in students best practices about toilet hygiene and etiquette and promote the cleanliness of public toilets to all Zhenghua stakeholders.
