1. RAS invited as a judge to SEF Oratory Competition on the Environment

On the 28th of May 2008, the Restroom Association was invited as a judge for the Scholastic Environment Fund's (SEF) Oratory Competition on the environment at Hwa Chong Institution. Primary school students took part in delivering presentations either individually or in groups on the theme of 'Green Technology'. Competition was strong with a number of primary 4 to 6 students engaging the crowd and vying for the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

2. RAS invited to the Young Muslim Women Association's (YMWA) Parent-Teacher Day Event

RAS was invited to enhance the YMWA's annual Parent-Teacher Day event on Saturday, 17th of May at Blk 557 Pasir Ris St 51. In line with the recent outbreaks, this event was specially focused on educating preschoolers and parents on HFMD prevention. RAS activities included a slide presentation for children and parents on the six-step handwashing technique outlined in the Happy Toilet School Education for Preschools (HTSEP) program; a live demonstration of the handwashing technique with preschoolers as well as a large boardgame featuring good toilet habits.

3. RAS invited to Catholic High Primary's Earth Day celebrations

The Restroom Association was cordially invited to participate in Catholic High Primary's Earth Day celebrations on Friday, 18th of April. The school adopted the theme of clean, environment friendly toilets and presented a variety of skits, speeches and performances with the intent of spreading messages of restroom hygiene and etiquette to its students. The President of RAS, Ms. Tan Puay Hoon was invited as the guest of honour for the event and the RAS gave an interesting 20 minute assembly talk. 4 toilets were decorated with the school receiving the GOLD award under HTSE guidelines. Channel NewsAsia, Newsradio 938 and Chinese radio station representatives were present to cover the event. We thank Catholic High Primary for its invitation and its endeavour to educate the need of keeping clean, sparkling toilets.
